Illinois News and Notes SPORTSMANS PARK, Cicero, DJ., May 2. J. D. Mikel, who does the training for the Mrs. E. Denemark horses, brought in May Music, Teddys Girl, Dorothy Rock and Tornado from the Denemark farm at Hinsdale, HI. Mikel also sent the eight-year-old horse, Kenyon C. to the farm to be turned out. The Le Mar Stock Farm, which in the past years has raced a large stable, has at this time only three horses racing here at Sportsmans Park. They are Masculine, Mighty Lucky and Materialize. The horses are trained by J. P. Keezek. Jockey Billie Pearson checked into the riders colony Friday. Pearson, who has been at Churchill Downs for the past few weeks, will lo the riding for the Molter and Williams stable. Condition books for the last 10 days of this 19 -day meeting were distributed among the horsemen Saturday by racing secretary Patrick Galliger. Utica, six-year-old horse belonging to F. Umbdenstock, was brought in from Lexington, Ky. The horse is trained by T. Barton. - R. Wilcox registered the two horses, My Banjo and Katherine G. Wilcox trains his own horses. Both horses wwe turned out during the winter months. T. W. Gilliland checked in with the one horse, Sly Gal, who was turned out for the winter at a farm at Piano. Gilliland will train his own horses. C. T. Leavitt, trainer of the G. W. Lawless horses, arrived at Washington Park with thirteen head. The stable was shipped here from California. Wabash Limited has been added to the stable of Brogan and Jones. The horse was brought here from Fairbury, 111. This makes six horses in the stable. Mrs. R. M. Chastain, one of the few women trainers on the American turf, vanned her two horses, Snowcrystal and Our Laddie, here from Washington Park. W. C. Kyle was a recent arrival with the four-year-old horse Clayville. The horse was shipped here from the Bashford Manor Farm in Louisville, Ky. George Wolfson has taken over the training of his own horses. The stable was formerly trained by C. S. Stubbs. Jockey K. Robertson returns to the saddle Monday after serving a five-day suspension for rough riding. Trainer E. J. Legere brought in the horse, Weatherburn. The horse is the property of T. and M. Vodin. Trainer A. J. Brown has taken over the horse Winlette and War Declared to train. The horses raced in the interest of A. Sin-kevich. Pates Girl, *ho races in the silks of R. G. McKay, was brought in from the Lexbrook Farm. McKay trains his own horses. Jockey William McShefferry arrived from Florida. McShefferry will ride free lance during the current meeting. « FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville, 111., May 2. L. Ressequet, New Orleans horseman, will campaign seven head and in the lot are two two-year-olds which will run the colors of Claude Mauberret, New Orleans political figure. Mr. Mauberret became identified with racing at New Orleans last winter. Alex "Country" Jacobus, who will handle the string of Mrs. M. Remillo, always has been considered "lucky" at Fairmount and brings some fair platers in Clean Swift, Woodbridge, San Francisco and Slight Error. This quartet accounted for 15 wins last year. Boss Hoss, Byrum Bros. crack handicap performer now racing at Churchill Downs, will head a nine-horse string which has been assigned stall room at Fairmount Park, it was announced. Others in the unit include Tiptolate. Pari Sucre and Pari Call. Al Smitha, who has not raced at Fair-mount Park in several seasons, has made application for stall room for six head, according to secretary Leigh. Jack McAtee also is expected to ship six head from Churchill Downs for the opening. B. L. Dishong will ship a very useful stable here, which will include the following: Pillorlad, Onus, My Echo, Fountain Grove, Erin Sweep and Cee Jay Gee. These six have accounted for 25 winning races during the last year. H. Hockenberry, who races the horses of Wesley Sears, will have Dusky Duke as one of his main dependencies in the minor handicaps, to be run during the 26-day meeting. Jerry Bronnenberg will bring two five-time winners of last year in Distract and Sly Kitty, while Snow Flower accounted for three wins," Flag Song two and Lady Flight and Miss Marilyn one each. Jack Carter will campaign the horses of Carter and Titus, which will include six head and is topped by Study Period, who may enter the handicap ranks here. Arriving to take charge of the bookkeeping department was George Demarest, who is well known to horsemen.
