Stephen Murphy Earns Spurs CICERO, HIT, May 2.— Apprentice Stephen Murphy rode the first winner of his career Friday while astride the long shot, Darby Dallas, in the sixth race. Murphy, who is 17 years of age, hails from Rock Island, 111. The youthful rider is under contract to Carl Clair, who brought out the good rider, Wendell Eads. The lad can do the light riding weight of 96 pounds.
