HASTY STAR took command soon after the start, steadily increased her advantage rounding the first turn, was tiring near the end, but lasted to win by a safe margin. ROIDEF, always in a contending position, closed strongly in the iinal eiehth while saving ground and was wearing the winner down at the ned. C. C. CURTISS, showing good earlv speed, stayed close to the winner to midway of the stretch, then tired. CLOUDY WEATHER raced evcnlv, but was never a serious threat. MINRAB could never get up. GRAND APPEAL showed some early speed, then tired. AXELSON. very slow to settle into stride, moved up swiftly between horses rounding the stretch turn and finished strongh . MIDLUCK, a forward factor from the beginning, forged to the front entering the back stretch the second time around, then held on with good courage to the final eighth and tired. ILLINOIS TOM raced evenly and was never able to get to the leaders. SHARP-SHFl.t. showed good early speed, then tired. KIOSK showed in front for a half mile, then gave up. CON-SCRnT pulled up lame. CIRIO, well up from the beginning, forged to the front after reaching the back stretch the second time around and finished strongly in the final drive, althoueh bearing out and just lasted to win narrowly. DISTANT ISLE, slow to settle into stride, moved up swiftly on the inside entering the stretch and was closing on the winner at the end. MASCULINE, up in the early stages, dropped hack roundine the second turn when forced wide, then came again In the last eighth to get the show narrowly. HlRI HOM HARI took command in the first few yards and set the pace for a half mile, then tired. JACK OHANA tired after showing good early speed. SOUTHERN DARKY also tired. THREE CLOVERS, slow to settle into stride, closed strongly rounding the far turn, raced the early pacemaker into defeat an eiehth out. but could not hold the winner in the closing drive. JEFFERSONTOWN, well back for the first mile, moved up strongly on the inside rounding the final turn and finished with good rourage, although no match for the winner.
