WINE PUNCH, slow to begin and in close quarters to the stretch, came to the outside tor lacing room, then, responding to strong urging, wore down the leaders to draw clear at the end. UNCLE BILLIES was well back to the stretch, then closed resolutely. SUNSTORM raced well back to the stretch and came fast thereafter. MENELAUS tired. PICO BLANCO II., steadied for a mile, picked up the leaders rapidly, went into command leaving the thirteenth brush and won with something to spare. RED RAIN, reserved until ready, was rushed forward leaving the twelfth jump, offered a bold bid at the thirteenth hazard, failed to menace the winner and tired. WAR PORT alternated with GOLDEN HOUR at pacemaking for more than a mile, bobbled at the fourteenth brush and failed to recover. KING COB, JUDGES BID and CAPTAIN BILL were outrun. GOLDEN HOUR, under strong handling from the start, relinquished the lead when he bobbled at the thirteenth jump and gave way rapidly thereafter. WOOD KING was unable to keep up. SIR ALFRED, rushed to the front, was put to good urging when challenged, held on well until the final sixteenth, where he began to tire, but bested HE ROLLS. The latter weaved his way forward through the field, came to the inside entering the stretch and tired after offering a bold bid. MOON MAIDEN was unable to keep up. VAGRANCY, cleverly ridden and under steadying restraint for a half mile, moved forward when ready, was sent to the inside when CHIQUITA MIA drifted out entering the stretch and wore down the latter in the last stages to be drawing away at the end. CHIQUITA MIA, steadied until ready, took command when ready, drew clear rapidly, swung wide on the stretch turn and came fast when straightened, but was unable to withstand the winner. BONNET ANN, slowest to begin, lost much ground throughout and closed with a rush. RED ROSETTE was in close quarters rarlv. improved her position through the field and finished well. COPPERETTE established a clear lead swittlv, set a eood pace, then gave way when challenged and tired in the drive. THE SWALLOW, taken back early, refused to respond to strong handling when clear. KSAR OF AUDLEY, reserved early, was forced to the outside for room, bore over on his field when reaching the lead and drew clear under pressure. SON ALTESSE, shuffled back at the upper turn, saved ground thereafter and finished strongly. PHARIEN, steadied until ready, was shuffled back by the winner, came again after recovering and closed with a rush. BELLE DAMOUR made up ground in the drive and finished in close quarters. DETROIT BULL followed the pace under strong restraint, fnreed to the front entering the stretch, was unable to hold the winner and tired.
