Name of Pharanor Now on Sires1 List First Progeny of Son of Pharamond II. Arrives at Three Cousins Stock Farm HYDE, Md., May 21. Five of the seven recent foals at nearby Three Cousins Stock Farm of Jerome H. Louchheim and Henry S. Horkheimer represent the first get of Pharanor, five-year-old companion stallion of Economic. Pharanor was purchased as a yearling for 1,500 by Louchheim. A son of Pharamond H., he is out of the Spanish Prince II. mare Princess-Nora, thus a half brother to Bill Farnsworth. As a yearling Pharanor commanded much attention. A large, well proportioned bay, he was tried highly in private trials before embarking on a short career at the races. In his first and only start he finished second. Ill luck then plagued the colt. He injured himself shortly thereafter while in training for a stake engagement and was retired. Thefoals by Pharanor, with those sired by Economic, now in the fields at Three Cousins are as follows: Bay colt, by Pharanor Careful Dinah. Bay colt, by Pharanor Pants. Brown filly, by Pharanor Autumnal. Brown filly, by Pharanor Mint Dinah. Brown colt, by Pharanor Light Luggage. Bay colt, by Economic Sedate. Chestnut colt, by Economic Iscolita. Mint Dinah Going to Economics Court Mint Dinah, a daughter of Mint Briar Dinahmeur, by Allumeur, is the only mare of the group going to Economic this year. That stallion son of Infinite Karelia, by St. Henry has done well as a progenitor. Approximately 85 percent of his get have been useful winners. Among matrons to be united with Pharanor this year is the good race mare Insco-lita. The full sister to the stake winner Joe Schenck raced three seasons and during that time was a good winner. Of the other five mares going to the youthful stallion, only Careful Dinah and Sedate are young. Both raced to the end of the 1940 season, but had only indifferent success. Careful Dinah is a five-year-old home bred, by Economic and the Mint Briar mare Mint Dinah, while Sedate is a six-year-old by Pompey Poise. The other mares, Autumnal, Light Luggage and Pants, have had foals that raced under the Louchheim colors. Autumnal, foaled .in 1929,. is by Stefan the Great Equinoctial, by Ultimus. Light Luggage is a sixteen-year-old by Royal Canopy Haversack, by Marinette. Pants, dam of Patched Pants, is a fourteen-year-old daughter of Peter Pan, from the Broomstick mare, Stickling.
