Officials of the Detroit Racing Association made a last minute physical check of the Fair Grounds plant today and announced that everything is in readiness for the opening of their seventy-three-day meeting Saturday. The Motor City executives were well pleased with the manner in which the grandstand, clubhouse and mutuel department have been improved. They commended track superintendent J. Oliver Brown and building superintendent Carter C. Cur-tiss for the splendid way in which the stabling area has been brought to par. All officials are now on hand, and attaches of racing, secretary Charles F. Henrys office are busily engaged making preparations for the inaugural day sport. Henry plans an outstanding program to open the long 1942 summer season and predicted that he will have little difficulty in filling his feature attractions. Among those establishments quartered at the Motor City oval are D. V. McClure, Norman Hernandez, Mrs. J. C. Sawyer, E. Gay Drake, Cary Boshamer, Tower Stable James C.
