Iron Hills Making Debut as Stallion Son of Bon Homme-Danube Waves Serving Four Mares At Iron Mountain Ranch RIVERSIDE, Calif., May 21. Iron Hills, winner of the California Breeders Championship Stakes as a two-year-old and the best horse ever bred by Harry Isenberg, president of the California Breeders Association, is making his debut as a sire this year, serving four mares at the Isenberg ranch. The blood of the seven-year-old is a combination of that of two of the best stallions ever to hold forth at Rancho San Luis Rey, Bon Homme and Bistouri. The latter is the sire of Danube Waves, dam of Iron Hills, whose sire is Bon Homme. Danube Waves, also at the Isenberg ranch, is regarded by the Riverside sportsman as one of his best mares. Iron Hills was active as a racer, starting seventy-eight times as a two-, three-, four-, five- and six-year-old. He was a winner of two races at two, and one race in each of his other years on the turf. He was in the money nineteen other times. Dam Never Raced Danube Waves is out of the Broomstick mare Comfort. She never raced, and Iron Hills was her first foal. Wild Chicle is another Isenberg sire that will be bred for the first time this season. He will be mated with six mares. Wild Chicle is by Chicle, out of the Wildair mare, Wild Denise. He was bred in Kentucky by Thomas Piatt. He was purchased by Samuel Briskin for ,000 and after starting once last year, bowed a tendon and was retired. Isenberg acquired him at auction last summer. The eighteen-year-old Justice F. will cover the remainder of the mares owned by Isenberg. The stallion has also been booked to outside matrons. Seven foals, four colts and three fillies were born during the first four months this year. All are by Justice F. The fillies are out of Kia Oro, an imported mare by Lemonora; Patty Jean, by Ariel Starry Heavens, and Little Katie, by Jacopo Pacify. The colts are out of Binocular, by Black Servant Binary Star; Porcellus, by Hard Tack Anna Leighton; Kitzi, by Friar Rock Fame Beau, and Coirema, by Bos-tonian Galeta.
