Best Seller Victorious In Governors Handicap Darby Dan Farms Odds-On Choice Beats Pomiya at Beulah COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 23. Best Seller, carrying the colors of John W. Galbreaths Darby Dan Farm stable and ridden by jockey Paul Keiper, was returned an easy winner of the ,500 Governors Handicap,, featured event of the half -holiday card at Beulah Park this afternoon. R. J. Diensts River Divide Farms Pomiva raced to second place, with Mrs. Frank Nugents Es-pino Gold third. Yar finished fourth, only half a length away. Pomiva showed in front until midway of the back stretch, with Best Seller and Yar in closest pursuit. Approaching the half-mile ground Best Seller took command and, opening up an easy lead, retained his advantage through the stretch run. Yar made a bold bid at the turn for home, but Pomiva still had something in reserve to withstand this challenge and gained second place by a length and one-half. The races were contested over a muddy strip. The largest crowd of the meeting was on hand to witness the sport, which was decidedly interesting, despite numerous surprises. With the running of the initial dash came one of the several upsets, when Leota W. led throughout and won with ease, which marked her maiden success. When Irish Abbie, an outsider, annexed the second with much to spare, this combination returned a Daily Double of ,256.40 for the usual investment.
