FIRST DIVISION came with a rush in the last eighth and nosed out POMPOUS PEGGY in the final stride. POMPOUS PEGGY raced forwardly and held on well in the final drive. MARYMICK closed ground. SIVA worked way up on .the outside and easily disposed of the others in the final test. BETTY .BANE displayed the most early speed, but finished tiring and barely saved third, FITTSPOOL closed much ground -and finished strongly on the outside of opposition. SAPHI could never get up.
