: : , 1 , s 2 Haughton Sends Bud Lerner Matron to Court of Nedayr ARLINGTON, Texas, May 23. Edward Haughton, who ha a well-appointed stock farm and nursery at Frisco, near Dallas, sent Lerno, a young brood mare by Bud Lerner, with a foal at foot, to Top O The Hill Stock Farm, where the young matron will be mated with Nedayr, Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilts stallion leased by Fred Browning and Bud Burmester. Haughton, who is in New England with his racing stable, also sent his mare, Miss Curiosity, by Upset, out of Keyspring, by Black Toney, to be bred to the Vanderbilt stallion. The Upset mare was believed to be in foal until last month, when she was found to be barren. This accounts for the lateness in sending her to Nedayr. Ordi-: narily, this mare would have been among the first to go to the court of Nedayr. Incidentally, the Vanderbilt sire is mak-s ing a good start at stud. He is sure with his mares, getting all of them in foah Bur-. mester and Browning are hoping that his first crop of foals in 1943 will be large, for they, are banking heavily oh the future of the Neddie Sunayr stallion.
