SIR KIEV, badly outrun to the stretch, started up between horses after reaching the final quarter and outfinished IRISH BAY. The latter, also far back early and blocked when racing on the jnside leaving the back stretch, obtained room on the inside in the stretch and closed fast. SONG MASTER, away slowly and widely outrun to the final eighth, came with a rush on the outside thereafter. BLUE CHIP showed a fair effort. LADY ROMERY tired in the drive. HADEPINE quit badly after showing good speed for three-quarters. TOP RUNG, taken under restraint after about three-sixteenths, responded only mildly when placed to pressure after reaching the stretch, but, after getting to the front, held on gamely, yet just lasted. RANGLE, on, the inside early, bettered his position gradually and, finishing strongest,, jnight have gotten up in another stride. HELEN AGNES, a factor from the start, saved much ground. INVOICE showed a fine effort from a slow beginning. COUNTRY MISS and LATTERS CHOICE began poorly. MISS LETITIA, away very fast, had speed, but tired and was eased near the end. Won driving; second and third the same. HILLFILLY took command leaving the back stretch, was kept restrained to the final quarter, drew clear under urging, but tired in the last sixteenth, yet lasted. EPISTLE, forced to race wide throughout and also in hand for a half, failed to stay with the winner when the latter moved up approaching he final eighth, but held on with determination and barely failed to get up. URAWINNER improved his position gradually after the " first quarter, went out gradually on the stretch turn and continued near the middle of the track while closing well. J. BABY had no mishaps. MARADA dwelt at the start and was away poorly. INSCOGERT showed little. GRAND APPEAL was through after a half. Scratched 18635 Waltham Cross, 110. LUMS PRIDE, well up from the start and saving much ground, drove to the lead on the inside and, finishing fast, drew clear in the last fifty yards. DEFENSE had good speed from the start, slipped through on the inside when passing SIS BAKER, swerved out in the stretch and, tiring, failed to withstand the winner. BAYRIDGE, away slowly and very sluggish in the early part, closed with a rush on the extreme outside. FIRST PRIZE raced wide throughout, entered contention in the drive, but tired near the close. ;SIS BAKER had speed, was inclind to bear out and faltered in the last eighth: TOMOCHICHI was held safe while running an even race. THREE PERCENT, racing in his best form and aided by absence qf early opposition, raced into a long lead in the first three-sixteenths, continued easily to the stretch and, shaken up, held his wide advantage to win with something left. EfON LIN II. moved up on the inside approaching the turn, was under pressure after a half mile, then drifted out slightly in the stretch and held on fairly well. CADMIUM began very slowly, was blocked when racing on the inside in the stretch and closed fast after coming out. STEP BY was forced wide on the stretch turn by SEA TACK, then rallied only weakly after straightening up,, but faltered in the late stages. HAPPY KHAYYAM,"on the inside for almost three-quarters and kept restrained for seven-eighths, was between horses entering the stretch, moved to the leaders gradually under stout urging and, ridden out, had little left. PARI CALL started up slowly when approaching the stretch, entered contention with a rush nearing the last eighth and tired near the finish, but withstood WEARY FLOWERS rush. The latter, far back to the final quarter, came strongly thereafter and sustained the rush to the end. LYNER was well rated, but began to falter before reaching the final eighth. PETER TOKALON, badly outrun to the last three-sixteenths, closed smartly on own courage. OUST quit. WOODEN INDIAN bore out badly when entering the stretch. SWEEP THROUGH had no mishaps. HENO LION, in close quarters early and allowed to move up when clear entering the back stretch, was rated along to the final quarter, wore down CONNIE ANN under strong handling and was drawing out at the end. The latter took command quickly, was taken to the inside before going a quarter, made the pace under good rating and fought it out gamely in the drive, but was not good enough. DES GRIEUX, inclined to bear to the inside throughout, caused some crowdine when leaving the back stretch and moved up steadily thereafter, but did not menace the loaders. SPEEDY SQUAW closed well. PEACHARINO faltered when the real test came. QUEENIE met interference entering the final half mile. PAUL LEE did not keep up. WHISK DOLLY was taken back when crowded into the rail on the far turn. SMITH opened up a commanding lead while making the early pace in hand, drifted out in the stretch and tired in the last eighth.
