PAUSE, never far back and in hand through the first half mile, took command when called upon, but had to be hard ridden in the final eighth to withstand JUST TOURIST. The latter began slowly, worked her way up steadily to the stretch, came to the inside for the drive and finished fast, but could not get to the winner. MUST GO, reserved " until reaching the finaL turn, came determinedly when subjected to punishment in the stretch. MELODY TONE, a forward factor to the final eighth, failed to stay in the closing stages. OVERSIGHT closed fast after beginning slowly. TEDIUM raced evenly without mishaps. SUN MICA was done early. BALTEE was hard hustled ca-Iy to get to the front, shook off REACT after-five-eighths, then continued gamely to hold RED MOSS s.t e. The latter saved ground while racing within striking distance of the leader for five-eighths, then finished resolutely under punishment, but could not get to the winner. STUART B., slow to begin and far back to the final turn, came between horses in the drive and closed strongly. DARBY DEMON made a bold bid entering the stretch, then faltered. BAF CEE could not threaten. REACT tired after forcing the pace to the final eighth. CIGAR LIGHTER could not keep up. VALROMA was done early. POPS RIVAL, hard hustled early to get to the front, held a clear lead entering the stretch and came over sharply to bother SWELL CHANCE in the drive, but drew away when clear. BRIAR SHARP saved ground when outrun through the first half mile, then came to the outside thereafter and closed determinedly under punishment. SWELL CHANCE, never far back, had to be taken up sharply in the stretch when POPS RIVAL interfered with him and failed to recover thereafter. QUICK TOOL trailed until reaching the stretch, then finished resolutely. DISSENSION SIR was never dangerous. CHANCE ANN raced forwardly placed for five-eighths, but tired in the closing stages. AIR SPRITE displayed good speed to the final turn, then bore out, losing all chance. Claimed Air Sprite by Mrs. H. P. Bonner for ,250. FOURTH RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. FATEtook command at once, established a good lead without need of urging and easily increased her advantage to the close UNBUTTONED on the outside throughout, came gamely when hard urged in the final quarter, but could not eet to the winner, though -easily bestpf the others. PAIRZETTA saved ground when outrun to the final turn came out slightly for the drive and then finished determinedly. SWEET ROLL closed well after beine outrun for five-eighths. FURENUF tired after forcing the pace to the stretch. COUNTMEIN was unablo tn threaten. TOWER MAID secured a contending position for the drive, but failed to stay under punishment!
