FAIRLY FLY, well handled, tdok command approaching the stretch, but had to be hard ridden thereafter to hold BILL G. safe. The latter, never far back, came to the inside on the final turn and closed stoutly under punishment. SHERRON ANN could not better her position when hard urged in the drive. DUNGEON went to the front at once, bore out badly after the first quarter and lost all chances. PAGEBOY, far back and outrun .through the first half mile, closed with a rush. SHIP BISCUIT saved ground while racing within striking distance of the leader to the stretch, responded readily when hard urged in the drive and, after disposing of BRIGHT ARC, held VALDINA PAUL safe. The latter, slow to begin and far back the first half mile, came to the inside on the final turn and closed with a rush, despite the fact that his riders saddle slipped. BRIGHT ARC took command at once, set the pace to the last eighth under occasional urging, then faltered. ARMY SONG raced evenly throughout and had no excuses. SUN PHAROS was unable to threaten. BOSLEY, much used forcing the pace for five-eighths, had nothing left for the drive. EXPLODED was never prominent, but was sent out a mile in 1:42. CAPT. DARBY DEEDEE saved ground when outrun through the first half mile, moved up resolutely when called upon and, after taking command, swerved repeatedly in the drive, but lasted to withstand MOONISH. The latter, far back and outrun to the final turn, came between horses in the stretch and closed with a rush. IMITRA, in hand until reaching the final quarter, came to the inside for the drive and finished determinedly under punishment. GOLD SATIN faltered after racing forwardly placed to the stretch. SPARKLING HEEL tired. STAR STRUCK raced to the front in the back stretch, but could- not retain her advantage when hard urged in the drive. HONEY-BOO was done after three-quarters. ZORRO raced in closest pursuit of ROYAL SHAWL to the final eighth, took command when the latter faltered and withstood a vigorous drive to hold OKOOLE MALUNA safe. The latter, in hand while saving ground to the stretch, came- out slightly for the drive and, responding to brisk urging, closed determinedly. SAM G., far back and outrun for three-quarters, came between horses on the final turn and finished strongly under punishment. SUN RISK began slowly, worked her way up steadily to the stretch, then failed to better her position under urging. ROYAL SHAVL went to the front at Once, set the pace to the final eighth anil gave way suddenly. MASKED DUKE could not keep up. Overweight Okoole Maluna, 4 pounds.
