SAINXPYREWICK, rushed strongly to gain the lead in the opening eighth, set a good pace to draw clear leaving the back stretch, continued strongly to the end and held sway. HAPPY HOSTESS, going close to the winner early, fell back, then failed to menace in the drive while outlasting STAR DANCE. The latter was close up early and held on gamely to the finish. NOT ALONE lost some ground entering the stretch. LADY MASCARA was shuffled back directly after the break and could not menace. READY-ABOUT also lost ground. CARMADA was outrun throughout. SHOWABAL, hurried into a forward position, moved up smoothly to overhaul the pacemaker, saved ground and was hard ridden in the closing drive to withstand PATRON SAINT. The latter swung to the outside when settled in stride, worked his way into a forward position and finished with excellent courage. CRUSAND, prominent while saving ground, closed with good energy. LENNANE sprinted clear early, gave way to the winner after five-eighths and continued to tiro. FIRST FLING was placed to severe punishment after going a half mile, then tired and finished wide. MISS SOOT could not reach a contending position. REIGN SUPREME .was never a factor. AUNT CADDIE raced poorlv. MARANDAN, hurried to hold a contending position, raced into a short lead leaving the back stretch, shook off HIGH" ROSE and CLAY HILL, rallied to pressure on the stretch, then drew out nicely. SCOOTIE followed close up from the start, made strong efforts and continued willingly in the drive. PETIT FOURS was hard ridden while racing within striking distance of the leaders and closed gamely in the final issue. WINTIME closed with a rush between horses. HIGH ROSE had good speed to the stretch turn, then tired. CLAY HILL was used up racing with the leaders and quit. ANN GROUCHER was held safe. CHIDE showed little. AFTER ORCHIDS, well up with the leaders from the start, continued well when the final issue came. PETES GOLD was ridden hard and gained ground slowly in the drive. NOT SURE bore out badly at the first turn when close up and then raced wide for the balance, of the trip. TRUE PILATE was unable to get to the leaders. CAMP-MEETING could not menace at any time. DISCOBOLO, lacking early speed, drove up fast between horses entering the stretch and gained fast in the drive. HALF INCH, messed about badly all during the early running, came extremely wide into the stretch and finished stoutly. ARIELS ELITE raced well in the early running. BRONX II., outrun for five-eighths, came full of run in the closing test. BRAZEN HUSSY made weak efforts to catch the pacemaker, then tired slowly in the last eighth. MEDRED outstayed tiring horses. DON ORLAN raced well placed, but failed to rally. DOTTIE showed much speed, but flattened out badly in the last three-sixteenths. WISE IDA quit when the real test came.
