I., N. Y., June 16.— Mrs. Ames, a juvenile daughter of «Johnstown and Catalysis who races for the Long-champs Farm of Henry Lustig, won the Astoria Stakes this afternoon at Aqueduct to gain her third straight stakes success and keep her racing record unblemished. Her two previous triumphs came at Belmont Park where she won the Fashion and National Stallion Stakes. Ridden by T. Atkinspn, Mrs. Ames slipped through on the inside rounding 1 the stretch turn, stood off determined j j opposition through the stretch run and I through the late stages was under hand j I urging. A length back and driving hard j in second place was Everget from the j ! Brandywine Stable, while Grant Thorn "s Fire Sticky was third. The winner negotiated the distance in 1:07, a surprisingly slow race for the starters who were noted for their speed.
