Miss Marfa Shows Way To Fairmount Rivals Prevails in Front-Running Style As Bobtown Just Lasts for Place COLLINSVILLE, 111., June 16.— Making every post a winning one, Miss Marfa, Texas-bred daughter of Sangreal and My Wish, carried the white and green silks of George McCamey, her owner and breeder, to victory in the fifth race. This event, attracting six three-year-olds, had its decision at one mile and seventy yards and Bob-town was the runner-up, he lasting to eke out a nose decision ahead of Nediana. J. Lee Greenock was fourth. Adenos and Nediana received the bulk of the wagering and the former gave way badly after chasing the winner to the stretch, where Bob-town moved forward on the inside to gain the second position. Nediana lost much ground and J. Lee Greenock and Heltran were outrun. Miss MarTa was the second winner ridden by William Bailey, Oxfocd Lad having started his double. The sport was presented before a good-sized crowd and over a drying out track that was classified as good. Journalist and Oxford Lad, the former with P. Dominguez, a recent arrival from Mexico, aboard, were surprise winners of the opening two events, which comprised the Daily Double and thereby holders of winning tickets received a return of 64.20. Gypsy Lass got up in the final stride of the six-furlong third event, to furnish the first success for the talent and when Doc Wagner lost Stan Luce soon after the start of the fourth contest, the talent again received a setback. Hada Lass was the winner, with Toms Cannon the runner-up and Flintee third.
