New York News and Notes AQUEDUCT, L. I., N. Y„ June 16. Calumet Farms Whirlaway has been declared out of the Brooklyn Handicap. Jockey J. Gilbert has been engaged to ride W. L. Branns Vincentive in the Dwyer Stakes on Saturday. Jockey G. Woolf has been engaged to ride Mrs. Vera Bragg "s Gold Shower in the Dwyer. Trainer Harry K. Day has taken over Ponty and five other horses belonging to Mrs. F. D. Scully. W. E. Suggs will train the horses of Mrs. F. Misasi, including Enter, and the horse, Brown Bud, for M. Longabardi. George Strate left for Chicago with several horses that he will campaign at the Washington and Arlington Park meetings. Fred Parks, steeplechase racing secretary and handicapper at all New York courses, announced that the fields in hurdle races will be limited to ten starters. Post time for the first race for the Empire City meeting, which will be held at the Jamaica course, will be 1:45 p. m. Scratch time will be 8:30 a. m. week days and 8:00 a. m. Sundays and holidays. Chain Miss. Molasses Bill and Blue Lily arrived from Suffolk Downs. B. F. Christmas expects to campaign them at the current meeting. Liberty Franc and Tin Pan Alley were shipped to Suffolk Downs to join the Dave Harrison string now at that coupse.
