The latter, steadied early, reached the lead entering the stretch, drew clear rapidlv, tiied undei pressure and was unable to withstand the winner. DES GRIEUX, slow to begin, weaved his v ay forward through the field and finished strongly. MANHUNT ran in spots. HAPPY ROAD showed nothing. LOPAZ was unable to keep up. PERISPHERE quit.
