Michigan Notes DETROIT, Mich., June 16. , Thomas Devereux, who races a stable of horses here in partnership with J. J. Far-rell, is an arrival from his home in Lexing- j ton, Ky. Devereux witnessed the winning performance of Bold Captain in the Grosse ! Pointe Handicap on Tuesday. O. A. j Bianchi conditions the Devereux and Far- j rell contingent. Jockey Mark Fator, veteran reinsman, piloted Thomas Piatts Miss Transit and Edwin Talberts One Only in their winning efforts here Tuesday, completing a riding ! double. Mrs. Porter Roberts, wife of the well j known rider, is an arrival from the Roberts ! home in Miami, Fla., and will remain here ! for the balance of the Detroit season. Dr. E. W. Thomas, widely known Lexington, Ky. veterinarian, arrived from the I Blue Grass region and will remain here on business for one week. Jockey Charles Parke returned from the Parke ranch at Declo, Idaho, and plans to get back into the saddle immediately. John Swisher, of the Jockeys Guild, departed for Chicago on business. Swisher reported before leaving that the reinsmens j organization now is in excellent shape. Stanley Pool disposed of the platers Joe [ Greenock and Royal Link to G. K. Williams. Terms of the transaction were private. Charles P. Ward, noted Detroit sports columnist, was a visitor at the Fair Grounds on Tuesday. Earl Warwick, West Coast turf writer, Is an arrival at the Fair Grounds and plans an indefinite stay. John Lawrence has taken over the training of Morselon and Edward A., who were shipped here over the week-end from Beu-lah Park by the partnership owners Brown and Capper. C. Y. Miller is expected here momentarily from Miami to take over the duties as masseur and physical director in the jockeys room. Miller served in the same capacity on New England ovals in former years. Edward Ballinger, jockey room custodian, reports that a number of riders are daily using to good advantage the "hot box," a Detroit innovation which is installed in the room this year.
