Will fit nicely with ,000 company. ANOTHER GRANI — This ,000 plater came from far back in recent race. May show better early foot next time against the same kind. ZESTFUL — Flashed an impressive performance against Cloy the other day. Just what she needed to put her on edge for a winning performance. VALDINA PERION— Heres a ,000 plater who suffered all sorts of bad luck the other day. Take him right back against the same class. WOODFIN— Was no match for Genl Manager the other day, but there are several races in the book for this four-year-old filly. MIOLA — Didnt run his best race when held at l-to-2 in the wagering. Clint Myers has him fit and ready to beat ,000 sprinters over this track. ANNUAL REPORT— Was snatched up several times during the running against Duck Berry, but came with splendid speed in the late stages. RUSH ACT — Has been going along smoothly in trials and is about ready to step out with a first class effort. Appears to be fond of this racing strip. ROSEMERE CHIEF— Was used up forcing the pace in recent start. The Mavi-gliano outfit has him all set for smart effort against good horses. SILVERY MOON— Is going along in sound condition and may find the proper spot this week. PINE TREE — All recent works have been of the highest order. Must go along with this one in present* condition. PRIVATE JOE — Looks and acts mighty fit and should do a lot of stepping when he finds the right company. Shouldnt be long before he makes the grade. By D. S. Fair Det SWIFT LEGION— Useful performer when matched with ,000 class platers. Recent morning trials impressive. PERE MARKETTE— One of the better three-year-olds quartered here. Worked five furlongs in 1:02% over a slow strip. BEN GRAY— Two races at Churchill Downs should serve as tighteners for a winning effort here. CRAZY WHIRL — Visited winners circle in Maryland before shipment to the Motor City and stepped three furlongs the other morning in :35%. SNOOKS WINTERS — Well-conformed thoroughbred has touch of class and raced impressively during recent Maryland campaign. VALDINA TYRANT — Turned in several useful morning trials since arrival from Florida and likes a mile or over against ,500 company. AIR SAILOR — Top class performer belongs with best horses at the Fair Grounds and he is in excellent condition. BOLD QUESTION— Partial to the local course footing and recent morning move of five furlongs in 1:0135 suggests that he is ready. SEE D. — Speedy sort and can handle muddy or fast track. Connections wilj find suitable spot in six furlongs allowance sprint. GINNYS PRIDE — Won impressively at Churchill Downs after being practically left and she is a clever juvenile miss. ETNOM — One of the better youngsters in the J. A. Kinard, Jr., stable and he can hold his own with fast company. UNCONDITIONAL — Throw out his last race at Churchill Downs as he did not like the muddy track. FLY WHISK— Ordinary plater but consistent, and should earn a purse here when pitted with ,000 class rivals at six furlongs. MY MARGIE — Maiden two-year-old has been training satisfactorily and she is due for an early graduation. SWOON— Quick filly startled dockers the other morning when she worked five furlongs in 1:0045 and she prefers six furlongs. By C. J. Connors Bel RANGE BLOSSOMS— This one is bound to improve over its recent start. CONNIVER— A well-regarded two-year-old who encountered racing misfortunes in debut. FLOOD TOWN— Last race was a good one and this colt is reaching peak form. YANKEE FORK— Florida form on this one good and is a possibility to improve in good sprint company. OUR BULLY — Is rounding to form and should be fair in future engagements. PAPER CUP— Winter form on this one is good. Training moves also have been on the good side. CUBAN BOMB — Has early speed and may find a field of sprinters to his liking. BURG EL ARAB— Highly regarded youngster who is training well and is about ready. WAR DATE — According to training moves ► this one is shaping up nicely and will be a factor in next outing. REPLY PAID — Has been sharpened up with a series of sprint races. HEEL UP — Has not reached top form and a slight drop in company will help. FAMES BED — Has early speed and may find a spot that will suit. GOLD BULL— Reared at start last out, then finished well. A better-than-aver- age juvenile. SWEET TTOE— Last race can be thrown out, and this one should do well in own class. ALBIMEL — Raced greenly in debut and overcame interference. Can improve. SPARTAN NOBLE— Will benefit from last start. HIRED MAN — Showed improvement in last start and should be a formidable factor in the future. By A. E. Brown Suf LOST GOLD— An aging veteran that has served notice that another winning effort is on tap. The change to this oval may be what the doctor ordered. JINGLE JANGLE — A mediocre runner from the extensive string trained by Jimmy McGee that should account for a purse during the early days of the meeting. DINNER PARTY — A better-than-average handicap performer who will earn his share of purses during the local season. Needs only capable handling to overcome obstacles encountered in large fields. ABOYNE — Jim Beattie has a fair sprinter here that will more than earn his feed if properly placed. LIBERATION— Will show to a better advantage if dropped a bit next outing. JUSTICE NAP — Has had a race that should have him thoroughly tightened for a winning effort. RANGE RATE — A three-year-old non-winner in the barn of trainer George Alexandra who figures to desert the maiden ranks in the very near future. SILEE — A promising juvenile that will take the measure of some of the better youngsters to campaign here. PROGNOSIS — A useful sprinter whom Guy Bedwell will win his share of purses with during the current meeting. Displayed sharp improvement in Gansett finale. HENRY PAYNE — Has been racing fairly well this spring. Should catch a field here that he can handle. CONTRADICTORY— A New England-bred daughter of Little Beans that displayed brief early foot in her debut. Will benefit from that experience. ANVELT — A useful distance performer that has encountered bad racing luck this spring. Is capable of taking the top and never looking back. LADY GREMLIN— The Questionaire mare is rounding to top form and will probably garner her initial victory of the New England season in the early days of the meeting. By J. J. Hahn F.P DODGE CITY— Has a preference for the local track and should score a victory during the first week of the session. JOSEPHINE— This miss raced well at Sportsmans Park and should give a cheap band lots of opposition. PRECO — Usually wins a few races during local meetings. Is a superior mud horse but can win on the dry. BROKEN DAME— This miss is ready at the first asking. Races well on any kind of a track. LADY DUANE— A cheap one but should earn her keep. Morning trials indicate that she is ready to earn brackets. BEACH MISS— At the top of her form and should she be placed right cant miss entering the winners circle. KONA WIND — Claimed for a handsome 1 price at Hot Springs and can sprint or go over a distance of ground. STEPSOME — Wants claiming races and I when meeting his own kind should make every post a winning one. SUNBURST— As consistent as they make 1 them. According to dockers she is ready to trim a band of cheap sprinters. SPHALERITE— Seldom fails to win here ! in spite of the fact that he bears out in the stretch. Is fit and ready. PRAHS — Raced with good success at 1 Sportsmans Park and is at top of form. ALCA EVE — Has had a long rest and dockers report her ready to give the best 1 here a tough battle. Can sprint or go over a distance of ground. 1 By W. C. Phillips Oma ACE OF SPADES — Favorite 13 -year-old i veteran campaigner with a "whirlaway" finish is apparently just reaching his prime. Should be ready at the first ] asking. ROSSIE PRINCE — One of the faster sprinters on the grounds, is training well. Although not noted as a mud horse, ] moves way up on a sloppy track. RECALLING — Consistent performer with a touch of class. Given a soft or drying- ] out track to which she is best suited, 1 I 1 ! 1 1 1 i ] ] ] will be difficult to head at a sprint or distance. GALLANT HOUR— This big good looking gelding has been in training all year and has never been better than he is at the present. Performs well over this track and will walk away from anything less than the best. PANDISCO — Gallant old mare always runs her best in the spring of the year. Will outsprint the cheaper ones. EASY PLEASE— Will be eligible for easy conditions. Is trained to razor sharpness and should not disappoint. CLANSMAID — With a stable that wins races here. Mare is best suited to a fast track but cannot be overlooked at any time in her present good condition. BLUE FAWN — Developed a soreness that kept her from beating all of the best here last year. Is rounding into shape and should be watched. ILLKA — Much too swift for the plater class that she will be asked to meet. An early victory for her. WHITCHTACK— One of the Dccter three-year-olds at Oaklawn Park and Chicago. Has retained his good form and outclasses any of his age now here. BRAZEN BOB — In capable hands and seems to improve every time he goes postward. Is fresh and ready. DES GRIEUX— In his works he appears better than his record will show for last year. Wants a distance, but may surprise first out at a sprint with cheap ones. By E. P. Heagerty Del WINTER WHEAT— Victory last out was in galloping fashion and over a fair band of three-year-olds. May be a real nice filly. RUN BUD RUN— Has trained exceptionally well and raced as though a bit short last out. Could win at first asking here. QUIET SHOT— Recent period of idleness put this filly on edge for several top efforts. May win for as much as ,000. BRIGHT ARGOSY— A well-prepped router who moves way up in mud. Last fast track race was very good. SHIVAREE— Rather faint-hearted colt, but a useful performer at distances of not more than six furlongs. BROOKFIELD — Broke a twelve-year-old track record last out at Havre de Grace and may win the opening day handicap. MY MALCHA— Raced well over the local track last season and gave indication last out that she is at peak form. FLYING JUNIOR— Should win a, route race when placed in a field with "platers valued at ,000 or less. ADROIT— Has been well rested since a successful Florida campaign and may be extensively raced here. BULLSEL — Has closed rapidly in recent sprint races and appears ready for a victory when stretched out to a distance of ground. BUR-MARK — Has continued to work well since graduating from the maiden ranks and may continue winning ways. BRIGHT REMARK— Recent races suggest this veteran is reaching peak form and is about ready for the winners circle. Raced well here last year. ROUGH FEATHERS— Stopped badly last out at the Graw but should lead throughout against high-priced claimers. G. GIRL — May earn her initial victory of the year when placed against three-year-old fillies at a distance of ground. LANDLORD — Has worked better than any horse stabled at the local course. Needs only to find a spot. By W. A. CrusejRan MISS JULIE Y.— Showed early speed in recent effort and should benefit from that outing. Will bear watching in a sprint. YA-MAN — An old favorite of the Cleveland fans who favors the North Randall course. Capable of trimming a fair band of runners. Any track suits. INFINOTTO— A three-year-old with lots of speed but has trouble racing wide on the turns. A strong armed pilot aboard should find this one on the way to the winners circle soon. BUENA HOMBRE — Has just missed in last two races. This old fellow runs a determined race each time and is worth staying with. HECTIC HOUR— This son of Hecla is remembered for his impressive races here last year, and reports are that he is sharp and ready for action. BUDDIE GENERAL— First outing here after coming from Phoenix was a sparkling effort and the next time should see this one in the winners circle. HALCYONA — An honest mare who is capable of beating a fair sort of runners. Was hard pressed when raced two days in succession but should come back and win without too much trouble. MISS RINK— One to watch in the forthcoming distance events. Was raced against the better grade of performers in Chicago last summer, and was always closing fast. BETTY BANE— Was unlucky in falling last outing. A real good cheaper grade of mare who will be sure to earn her share of the purses. GOGAL — Was running well at the finish in most recent trial and will lead a field home in the not too distant future. Prefers a route. TOM WADE, JR.— Made up much ground in race on the twenty-third and was getting to the leaders. Will bear watching in the better grade of distance events. PRE-FLIGHT — Improving steadily and this gray son of Foray 2nd hould have no trouble finding his way down in front very soon. ZORRO — Trainer F. Grimes has this one in top condition and indications are he will be a very consistent sort of performer. Just missed in last outing.
