CONNAUGHT, never far back, bore in badly when set down in the drive and, interfering with POLARIS, held the latter safe. POLARIS, forwardly placed from the beginning, was caught between horses in the stretch and, bothered by the winner, could not overhaul the latter when clear near the finish. N0TF0RME went to the front early, made the pace until inside the stretch, then weakened. FAVORITE TRAP failed to rally when roused for the drive. SIR DRAKE was outrun. ONE LINK began sluggishly. IDLE SUN appeared sore in the post parade and never was a serious factor. CHIPPOKES broke well, then showed nothing. Scratched— 97909 Angel Cholly, 118. Overweight— One Link, 1 pound. RED PLUSH worked his way forward steadily while saving ground, responded to a steady hand ride through the stretch and, after wearing down the leaders, won going away. TURKEY FOOT, never far back, reached the lead when settled for the drive, but was not good enough for the winner. FANNIE MAC held on willingly to the final furlong, then gave way. TOUCH OF TIME outbroke her rider, dropped back after the beginning and could not threaten when set down in the stretch. JUDY DUNN made the pace to the stretch, then quit. OUR BOSS began fast, drifted out badly thereafter and was never dangerous. FAIRY TIME was outrun. VALDINA REX was away very slowly and pulled up sore. Overweight— Turkey Foot, 1 pound. BLACK FANTASY, forwardly placed from the beginning and well ridden, responded readily when vigorously handled in the final quarter and, after disposing of the leaders, held TOP SERGEANT safe. The latter, badly outrun to the stretch, came to the middle of the track for the drive and finished fast under urging. MISS BOO, on the outside to the stretch, was taken to the inside thereafter and tired while racing in the deepest going. ARIEL IMAGE held on well in a good effort and had no mishap. ANNE AGAIN began slowly. SAY YES was outrun. BESSIE VANCE made the pace to the last furlong, then gave way. PATRIOTIC FOX had early speed. ASK ME, slow to begin and outrun early, came out for the drive and finished resolutely, working out to the mile in 1:42. BOLD LUSY began fast, but failed to keep up after racing with the leaders to the stretch. JUST DAYLIGHT was never dangerous.
