LITTLE HOOPS, kept within striking distance while saving ground, slipped through entering the stretch, responded to pressure and wore down FLAMING HIGH inside the final sixteenth mile. FLAMING HIGH disposed of SCOTCHGRASS in the first half mile, drew into a clear lead, then was under steady pressure to the end. FIRST COMMAND worked way up on the outside to enter -contention from a position near the entrance to the stretch, then failed to gain under strong handling. FIRE KABO was forwardly placed and had no mishap. MADAME MAMIE raced evenly. SWEEPNACK was unable to reach contention under urging. MELODY LASS was outrun. SCOTCHGRASS quit after setting the pace for a quarter. PURE SILK, in closest attendance of the early pace, responded to pressure while saving ground, caught the leaders leaving the furlong pole and drew out at the end. BUCK SERGEANT, under steady urging when outrun the first half mile, came fast on the extreme outside to be closing fastest. MUG steadily improved position while saving ground, entered the stretch in a contending position, then closed gamely. GREEN GARDEN disposed of FORGET-ME NOT in the first quarter, was allowed to open a long lead and held on well to the furlong pole, then quit badly. LA PATICA was unable to keep up. BLANCHE PURCEL passed tiring horses in the final furlong. F0RGETMEN0T faltered after a half mile. RANGE RATE was never a serious contender. Overweight— Pure Silk, 3 pounds. Range Rate claimed by R. HERES ME showed good speed from the beginning, drew clear without urging, came out in the better going for the drive, turned back CODDLE leaving the furlong pole and drew out at the end. CODDLE saved ground while within striking distance of the pace, slipped through on the inside turning into the stretch, moved up determinedly, then faltered. MAC FETCHIT improved position in the final furlong under steady urging. LITTLE SPOOKY moved up fast on the outside nearing the far turn, but went wide entering the stretch and never recovered. CONTRADICTORY raced In spots while on the extreme outside. AGHADEE was never a serious contender. J0C0LE broke sluggishly and was not able to reach contention LIKEALADY was unable to keep up. SHIPS CAPTAIN was sent up fast on the outside rounding the first turn, drew clear while under light restraint, then was under steady urging and faltered in the last stages. RED FLARE, forwardly placed early, was bothered when SHIPS CAPTAIN came over on the first turn, recovered midway of the backstretch and closed jam f with good energy. JEEMS, outrun to the final quarter, closed resolutely on the extreme outside LONG-TIDE was unable to keep up. PETES BEST was outrun. EYE was hustled to the first turn, saved ground to open a long lead entering the backstretch, maintained his advantage until nearing the furlong pole, turned back the bid of MOMO FLAG and drew out under a hand ride. MOMO FLAG well placed under steady restraint, responded to pressure while saving ground and drew close to the leader in the stretch only to falter in the final sixteenth. FLOURTOWN, in closest attendance of the pace for six furlongs held on with good courage through the stretch. DO-REIGH-MI raced evenly on the extreme outside. WEST FLEET, going forwardly responded to vigorous handling in the final sixteenth and got up in time JO AGNES sprinted into a commanding lead while under light urging, saved ground throughout, but shortened stride nearing the sixteenth pole and just failed to last. JOHNNY JR., outrun early, was forced wide on the turn while moving into contention, then continued to gain under steady urging on the extreme outside. TAKE AWAY was unable to reach the leaders in the first quarter, slipped through on the inside rounding into the turn into the stretch, then faltered SOL-LURE showed good speed forcing the pace to the head of the stretch, then weakened slightly under steady pressure. BURGOO MAID was unable to keep up.
