Hold Up Racing in Japan TOKYO, Japan, June 11— Reuters .— Horse racing, which has been suspended here since 1943, will not be resumed until fall, high government officials said today in answer to Japanese fans reauests for an early revival of the sport. Authorities banned the sport because of the acute food shortage and transportation difficulties. It was also pointed out there are only 240 thoroughbreds available, as against 2,000 during the peak period, and only three of the 11 pre-war tracks could be used at present. The other eight were requisitioned by the military for factory sites and other wartime purposes.
