RED STAMP saved ground while moving into contention, rallied through the stretch and was kept to mild urging. GRAND ACTRESS weakened after setting the pace, but was best of the others. CAT LUCK, unable to keep up after breaking alertly, closed with good energy. OCEANIA was well placed from the beginning, but was not good enough. IM OSULLIVAN was a forward factor, but failed to rally. CYPER broke tardily. THE CONGA had very brief speed. TUMBLE BOY, slow to settle into stride, moved through on the inside and outfinished CHANCE BRAS. The latter held on well after setting the pace, but was not good enough. FAN FAN was a forward factor throughout and had no mishap. SIR ECHO was much better than the race would suggest. PARTIDO failed to rally after being a forward factor from the start. EASY CHAIR closed willingly. TAP LIGHTLY weakened after apparently attempting to drift out on the turn. TOP MONEY quit. Scratched— 99694 Playjames, 112. THIRD RACE ABOUT 2 MILES. DRINTOWN set the pace under steadying restraint, fenced well and won without need of urging. FREDERIC II. raced forwardly placed while fencing nicely, but was not good enough. STRAWRIDE bobbled at the seventh, but recovered well to show a fair race. SIR BLUESTEEL made a bad landing at the sixth jump after being permitted to drop back early. HIMMEL weakened after the first mile. PHALANGER pressed the pace for a mile and was tiring badly when he made a bad landing at the thirteenth jump. FOREVERMINE was best of the others, but was no match for the winner. NAVARRESE made up ground and should improve off that race. POOLESVILLE moved boldly on the turn then failed to make up ground. TINTARY, not hurried during the aerly stages, displaced the leader on the turn and withstood TETTINGTON. The latter improved his position steadily after a half, but could not overtake the top one. ARDEN LAD saved ground while in front but tired in the closing test. HAWKWOOD ARESS was within striking distance, but tired under pressure. Start good from stall gate. Won easily; second and third driving. GALLORETTE was hard held while cutting out the early running, kept WAR THROPHY in close quarters on the final turn, forced him to take up entering the stretch, then drew clear to win easily. WAR TROPHY was with the pace while geing rated, moved through on the inside of the leader midway of the turn and, while it was doubtful that he would best the winner, was forced to pull up in the vicinity of the three-sixteenths post. GEORGE CASE, under resraint while forwardly placed, faltered under pressure. MEGOGO was never a factor. Scratched— 99978 Service Pilot, 119. For late charts see tomorrows issue
