Training Mishap Fatal to 3-Year-Old Saranac BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., June 11.— A training accident that was fatal to the three-year-old Saranac, owned by the Sanford Stud Farm, happened at Belmont Park during the early hours this morning. The gelded son of Head Play and Minaret, while on the track preparatory to breaking into a training move, was struck by a stablemate Yankee Hill. The latter was moving at high speed, when Saranac wheeled and stepped in front of him. The injuries received brought about his death. Yankee Hill was severely shaken up, and will be on the shelf for some time. Both riders escaped injuries.
