Arlingtons Post Time Set for 2:15 All Mondays Will Be Ladies Day at North Side Course; Spokane Heads First Card ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, 111., June 11.— Benjamin F. Lindheimer, executive director of the Arlington Park Jockey Club, announced this morning that post time for the local season, which starts here Monday and carries on through July 27, has been set at 2:15 p. m. throughout the meeting, Including Saturdays and holidays. Lindheimer also announced that Mondays will be set aside as ladies day, with patrons of the so-called weaker sex allowed admission to the grandstand free of all charges except state and government taxes. This will also apply to opening day. He further stated that only the finishing touches remain on the huge renovation program and he is especially pleased with the progress that has been made in the refurbished swanky Post and Paddock Club. The latter had been completed in every detail and will be ready for inspection over the week-end by its wealthy patrons. Only minor landscaping work remains to round out this section of the establishment into one of the most dazzling clubs in the world. While this brushing-up process is taking place, racing secretary Fred Burton, who arrived here from Charles Town, W. Va., is operating his office here. He is accepting registrations and hopes to have everything in order by the time his opening program Is offered. Juveniles to Contest Atwell Purse On the initial bill will be the 0,000 Spokane, a race for three-year-olds and upward for nonwinners of a sweepstakes in 1946. This race will give some of the better horses who have failed to earn their way against the topflight horses a chance to get off to a splendid start at the meeting. The first race on the program will be the Atwell Purse, a race for two-year-old maiden colts and geldings, at five furlongs. This is another test that may bring out a number of horses with championship aspirations. Because of the lack of clauses in the conditions, the race may attract some of the finest young performers on the grounds, especially those who are being prepped for the rich Juvenile stakes here. The second race, to be known as the Semprolus, is another two-year-old dash at five furlongs, but this probably will draw the lesser lights of the division, for only those who have not won a sweepstakes or three races other than maiden or claiming will be eligible. The six-furlong Wildair Purse for three-year-olds is carded as the third and the fourth will find a group of three-year-old platers of the ,000-,500 variety at seven furlongs. The Granville, listed as the fifth, is for four-year-olds and upward at six furlongs and this will be followed by the Spokane. After the Spokane, the first turf race of the season will be contested when three-year-olds and upward will go over the mile and one-sixteenth course in the centerfield. A mile and one-eighth ,500 claimer will round out the program.
