TUSCO was sent into a clear lead at once, was steadied there while saving ground and hung on stubbornly. VALDINA REX, closest to the pace from the start, made a stout bid through the stretch, but was unable to improve his position. ERAZAL closed a good gap. APPOINTEE raced evenly and forwardly, but could not threaten. PETES KID was outrun early and passed tiring horses. MARCHING FEET was unable to keep up. Overweight Erazal, "2 pounds. SIR HARRY, much the best, was sent to the front at once and drew out easily when given his head. HEYDAY lacked speed to match the early leaders, responded well through the stretch, but was no match for the winner. COUNT BLUE raced closest to the winner, but weakened slightly when placed to pressure. ENSIGN HUNTLEY made up ground steadily from a slow beginning. LOMA MAR ROGUE could not keep up. BAYONET, sluggish early, closed some ground. STAGE STAR had some early speed. Daily Double on the First and Second Races Paid 04.50. THIRD RACE 3-4 MILE out of .chute. ECOMODATE raced within reach of the leaders from the start, went through between horses entering the stretch, then withstood a stout bid from BONA DEA. The latter, never far out of it, challenged boldly through the stretch and just failed to get up, AXELSON, prominently placed early, went to the outside for the drive and closed gamely. ROYAL WHIRL lacked early speed, but closed stoutly. SNOOKS WINTERS, on the outside all the way, turned in a good effort. FANNIE MAC was used up racing with SPARKER in the lead early and faltered. SPARKER had speed to set the early pace, but quit badly. SHINEMUP and COHALL were away very poorly. Ecomodate claimed by R. A. Connell. Snooks Winters claimed by W. J. Susini. Cohall claimed by H.
