Mist o Gold Works Mile And One-Quarter in 2:10 JAMAICA, L. I., N. Y., June 25. Another likely candidate loomed for Saturdays S50,000 Empire Stakes at a mile and three-sixteenths when Vera S. Braggs Mist o Gold came out on the Belmont Park track and worked a mile and a quarter in 2:10, in handy style,, always well within himself. While it is possible that the Bragg racer, who might be a more formidable factor if completely sound, will ship to Chicago during . the week, it is believed that he will delay his departure until after the Empire City. This brings to three the probable rivals to King Ranchs champion, Assault, in the rich fixture, the others being E. P. Taylors Wind-fields and Mrs. Walter M. Jeffords Natchez. The latter is at Delaware Park, where he was an absentee from last Saturdays Diamond State Stakes a couple of weeks ago. Stalls were requested at Aqueduct for Natchez and Mahout to run in the Dwyer, but after the stalls were bedded down, the pair remained in Delaware.
