Keiper Suffers Severe Burns SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., June 25. Jockey Paul Keiper was severely burned in the Suffolk Downs jockey quarters today, when a fellow rider ignited a match while Keiper was being given a rub-down. Keiper was on the rubbing table at the time and the flames from the match caused the rubbing alcohol to ignite. He was moved to the Chelsea Memorial -Hospital by Dr. Chris. Pattajo, track physician, just as soon as the severe pain from the burn subsided. At the hospital, it was determined that the veteran rider had suffered second degree burns on his back.
