POLYMELIOR, much the best, was caught between horses on the far turn, was forced to ease back sharply, went around the field and, finishing fast on the outside, wore down BALLACOLAS. The latter disposed of JOHNS BIRD to take a clear lead, saved ground and hung on well. VALDINA SECRET improved her position on the turn and closed with a rush th.it!l5Jrelch- MILITARY SIR, slowest away, bettered his position gradually and finished stoutly. TURKEY FOOT was a forward factor ail the way, but was unable to engage the leaders. GRAUSTARK raced evenly. JOHNS BIRD was unable to keep up. Overweight Libyan Star, 3 pounds; Christabel, 4. FRENCH LURE lacked early speed, went to the outside for the drive and closed with a rush. HI BERT, very sluggish early finished fast between horses LANTERN raced evenly and forwardly. SENATE broke fast, but lacked speed to maintain his position, moved up threateningly between horses in the stretch and finished stoutly DAI YIT was rushed to the front or i the turn was unable o get clear while on the outside, then weakened in -the final sixteenth.
