Illinois Notes ARLINGTON PARK, Arlington Heights, 111., June 26. Jockey J. Finnegan was an arrival from Boston and will ride out the remainder of the meeting. According to Vasco Parke, custodian of the jockeys room, this brings the total of riders here up to 63. Leonard J. Wilson has taken over the large stable of Louis Schlosser to train. There are 26 horses in the barn. Woodrow Wilson Meier arrived from Kentucky with Bold Style and Stylette owned by his brother, J. E. Meier. Roy Cameron announced that he has resigned his position as trainer of the Joe Maumus Stable and will leave for Lexington. Frank Podesta, former general manager of the Valdina Farms, was an arrival from Memphis, Tenn. K. G. Marshall, who has a string of horses here in charge of Leroy Keating, was an arrival from Birmingham, Ala. Trainer Sam McPherson has taken over the stable owned by F. and R. Mavigliano to train. Owner-trainer C. W. Tague was an arrival from Omaha, Nebr., where he has a stable of 12 horses. They will be shipped to Illinois after the Ak-Sar-Ben meeting there. Jockey Jack Richard, who was recently discharged from the Army, is now galloping horses for Don Ramsay and may be seen under silks at this meeting. Herbert M. Woolf, owner of the strong Woolford farm stable, was an arrival from his home at Kansas City, Kas. M. A. Byl, of the Railway Express Company, says his organization will ship seven trotting horses owned by Shell and Anderson to Westbury, L. I., next. week. The trotters have been competing at Maywood Park. Jockey A. L. Fay, who was the leading rider at Sportsmans Park and who rode Roman Belle to third place in the Princess Doreen Stakes Saturday, has been signed to ride that filly in the Modesty Stakes and the Arlington Matron Handicap. She is owned by Allen and Estriri. R. C. Baker took out a trainers- license and will condition his own horses here. Trainer Lee Erb arrived Irom Omaha with the horses Little Geromo and Big Geromo. They are owned by Erb and Burton. Jockey Tommy Bates packed his tack and left for Fairmount Park, where he will ride out the remainder of the meeting. Ernie, Kotche, who acts as agent for Jockey Doug Dodson, said the star reins-man will ride Blue Grass in the Pollyanna Stakes next Saturday. J. and J. D. Rodgers Walkie Talkie, who finished second in the Clang Handicap here last Wednesday, has shown no signs of recovering from a sore leg, which was caused when he twisted a plate during the running of the race. Trainer J. P. Keezek has no idea when the horse will be ready to run again.
