CLEAN JOB opened a clear lead in the first quarter, widened her advantage on the far turn and saved ground to win as rider pleased. MY NANCY was rushed up on the inside from a sluggish beginning, saved ground, but was unable to reach the leader. ETERNAL GOLD closed fast under steady urging in the final sixteenth. MY TEACHER was forwardly placed and had no excuse. SILVER SWEEP had no mishap. WALKUP, slow to begin, closed fast on the outside through the stretch. ZACS IMAGE raced in spots. KATHY broke alertly, was taken back off the early pace and, rated behind the leaders to the quarter pole, slipped through on the inside, then responded to stout handling to outfinish MISSMENOW. The latter disposed of FLAMING HIGH entering the stretch, drew clear and was victim of overconfidence of the rider. MERRY SUNSHINE rallied mildly under steady urging, but was unable to menace the top pair. FLAMING HIGH was rushed into command in the first quarter and maintained his margin under light urging, then weakened under a drive. TAKING WAYS broke slowly and was outrun to the furlong pole, then made a mild bid. CLOUDY WEATHER went evenly and had no mishap, TEN OAKS was unable to keep up. SANGONE broke with the field, then stumbled and never recovered to gain a contending position. SIS ROSIE, showing improved form, vas rated behind GRAY STAR while the latter was setting a fast pace, responded to pressure when set down and outfinished GRAY STAR under strong handling. The latter drew clear after the first quarter, was steadied along to the head of the stretch, was roused and held on gamely under pressure. WEATHERCOCK showed a good effort to get up in time to dead-heat for third. SHIPS CAPTAIN rallied mildly in the late stages. LATE TIME was unable to keep up. LABOULAYE was devoid of early speed and failed to rally under intermittent pressure. TASCOSA had brief early speed. LOW TENSION was through early. The others were outrun. MIDWAY SUN, well handled while rated back off the pace, slipped through on the inside entering the stretch, responded to pressure to catch GAY MOONBEAM nearing the sixteenth pole and was drawing out at. the end. GAY MOONBEAM broke alertly raced on even terms with MERRY DICK leaving the furlong pole, assumed a slight lead, but was unable to match strides with the winner. MERRY DICK was well placed and had no excuse. WAYNE L. was in the thick of contention throughout and weakened slightly under pressure. LITTLE BENGY improved his position under strong urging. PUNCTUAL passed tiring horses. DONNA M. G. raced evenly. COLD BLAST was never prominent. PAPER CLIP rallied mildly after a half mile, then flattened out. JOAN ELISE quit. OGHAM broke alertly, assumed command at once, set a sizzling pace while saving ground, was roused to shake off BUSYRIDGE and had enough left to hold HYHUSTLE safe at the end. The latter was under steady urging to remain with the pace, rallied under stout pressure in the final furlong and was catching the winner at the end. BUSYRIDGE was forwardly placed and had no mishap. COPYWRIGHT lost ground entering the stretch, then failed to respond to steady urging. ARIDISICAL had good speed in forcing the early pace, was caught in close quarters on the turn and failed to recover. TWO TEN broke slowly, was bothered slightly when SAMBOROMBON raced wide and failed to make up ground under intermittent pressure. KING LEROY was outrun. ELMO T., well handled while setting the pace, saved ground to the top of the stretch, came out from the rail, responded when shaken up nearing the furlong post and had enough left to hold PLEBISCITE. The latter was hustled away from, the break, remained in closest attendance of the pace, was steered to the inside leaving the furlong post and was catching the winner at the end. SPANGLED GAME was hard held to the quarter post, thenfailed to respond to intermittent pressure through the stretch. GABE PAUL was steadied along under a snug hold for six furlongs, began moving up on the outside leaving the backstretch, then raced evenly through the stretch under steady urging. JOSIES PAL, rated back of the pace and on the outside for six furlongs, moved up to challenge ROMAN ABBOT entering the stretch, responded to steady urging and drew out. TRACELETTE, kept close to the leaders on the inside, was eased back leaving the backstretch to avoid getting blocked, then closed willingly when straightened in the stretch. GRAY SYNGO was under a steady drive from the furlong pole while racing on the inside. ROMAN ABBOT assumed command at once, was steadied along under light restraint, then weakened when put to a drive. TRAGIC ENDING made up ground in the late stages. SKIPPER Z. was unable to reach the early leaders under urging. RENRAW quit after forcing the pace forpa half mile. CHANCE CROSS was outrun.
