Peace Harbor Victorious In New Jersey Futurity Comes Fast on Outside to Nip Pipette by Half-Length Margin MONMOUTH PARK, Oceanport, N. J., June 26. Proving gamer in a thrilling duel through the last sixteenth of a mile, Brook-meade Stables favored Peace Harbor raced to vastly popular victory in the first running of the 0,000 New Jersey Futurity here today to set a new track record for the five and one-half furlongs course. With Jockey Job Dean Jessop displaying the saddle wizardry that has gained him acclaim as one of the nations foremost riders, Peace Harbor, on the outside, was up in the last few strides to defeat W. H. La Borxeaus dead game filly Pipette, a half length as these two fleet members of the juvenile division furnished all the competition in the inaugural running of the stake. Gaining third honors, but a faltering competitor at best, Winlachan Stables Wishmeluck, who finished six full lengths in arrears of Pipette while holding a two and one-half lengths advantage over William Helis Ladys Ace, fourth in the eight horse futurity field. Bright, sparkling weather prevailed and an enthusiastic throng of 8,540, including numerous New Jersey thoroughbred breeders witnessed the fine program. Peace Harbor, a brown son of Easton Alexandria, carried 119 pounds and he raced straight and true over the lightning fast track to be clocked in 1:05 to shave one and one-fifth seconds off the standard set by Pipette in her thrilling victory in last weeks Colleen Stakes. A smart winner of his initial race over the Monmouth Park track, Peace Harbor was roundly supported today and paid .40.
