Schedule Seven Features For Ascot Park Meeting AKRON, Ohio, June 26. "Northeastern Ohios race meeting" will get under way at Ascot Park Wednesday, July 10. During the 19 days of racing, all of Ascot Parks regular features are scheduled. General Manager D. E. 3ronin today announced that the top event of the entire session, the Ascot Gold Cup over the two-mile route, will be run Saturday, July 27, but will be for a purse of ,000, an increase of 25 per cent over last year. Handicaps are scheduled for each Wednesday and Saturday throughout the meeting with the minimum purse in handicaps being ,200. A total of 65,000 in purses will be distributed among the horsemen during the Ascot racing season.
