Oidenasai, O. G. Kelley In Miles Standish Trials Work Five- and Three-Eighths In 1:01 and :36, Respectively SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., June 26. Weston W. Adams Oidenasai and James H. Carrs O. G. Kelley, two candidates for the eleventh running of the 0,000 Miles Standish Stakes, five and a half furlong event for two-year-old colts and geldings which features Saturdays program at Suffolk Downs, were on the track this morning for workouts designed to fit them for that event. The Adams colt, a chestnut son of Transmute Miss Mars who has yet to graduate from the maiden ranks, worked in company with his stablemate, Roll Two, and stepped a handy five-eighths in 1 :01. George Alexandra, who conditions the Adams string, is satisfied with his charges condition and plans to start him on Saturday. O. G. Kelley was breezed three-eighths in :36. The bay son of Gino Bad Dreams has been improving with time and has a good chance in Saturdays feature. He was second to S. D. Sidells good colt, Silee, in his last start. While T. C. Melroses Mel Eppley was not expected to start in the Miles Standish, there is a good chance now that the bay son of Hairan Marie Jean will be sent to the post. The Cleveland patron considered the possibility of temporarily throwing Mel Eppley out of training, but he was on the track Tuesday morning for a light workout and some dockers caught him breezing three furlongs in :38. After that move his connections are considering him as a possible starter in the Saturday feature. Racing secretary John P. Turner Sr. expects a field of from six to eight to start in the Miles Standish. In addition to Oidenasai, O. G. Kelley and Mel Eppley, R. B. Carrolls Belrate, C. T. Chenerys Hemlock, McCarthy and Gavegnanos Black Knave, Reynolds Brothers Rum Runner, S. D. Sidells Silee and H. C. Wolfes Herbie G. are preparing for the race. - Of these Black Knave, Belrate and Silee have won their last starts at this track and Herbie G. has a good second behind Belrate to his credit. This years possible field appears to be so evenly matched that it is sure to produce an outstanding race.
