ANNIEOPSQUOTCH raced in close attendance of the pace from the beginning, responded to pressure to take command just before the finish, then outlasted GOING AIRY. The latter was forwardly placed throughout, showed a tendency to run out on the turn, then came with a rush to be catching the top one. MUTI set the pace and fought it out willingly. ORESUSAN showed a good race while going evenly. SNOW PHANTOM failed to respond. GAY WAVE could not keep up. ROSES ARE RED showed nothing. Won ridden out; second and third driving. BOOJUM II. set his own pace under good handling, drifted out slightly while making the eleventh fence and held sway under intermittent pressure. GALA REIGH pressed the pace while fencing well and would have been hard to beat had his saddle not slipped. WAR BATTLE, steadied early, was in close quarters several times while being kept on the inside,- bobbied badly at the ninth fence, recovered well to remain in contention, but was not good enough thereafter. ANNOTATOR was within striking distance while trailing, made a bad landing at the eleventh jump and failed to make up ground. BORDEAUX, unhurried after breaking alertly, moved through on the inside while challenging and outfinished AUDACITY. The latter set the early pace, withstood the challenge of MISCHIEVIOUS in the early stretch, then was unable to last. The latter, away slowly, was unable to ogtain room, moved to the leader in the early stretch, then flattened out. IM OSULLIVAN was always forwardly placed, but was not good enough. BUDDY KENNEY showed nothing. INSIDER tired. ROUGH CLOUD broke tardily and was rank in the early running. THE FAKIR, sent into a commanding position early and steadied, assumed command boldly when asked, was given a breather on the final turn and drew clear again when shaken up. HAWKWOOD ARESS, in front early, held on well after relinquishing the lead, but was no match for the winner. IN TIME rallied to reach contention in the early stretch, but faltered thereafter. REZTIPS, away tardily and slow to settle into stride, was well handled while forced to pick his way between horses and was going best at the end. IDEAL GIFT pressed the pace and weakened. EVEN BREAK raced within striking distance from the beginning, but rallied only mildly under heavy burden. SHELTIE rallied too late. ROUGH FEATHERS weakened. ZAX saved ground while setting the pace and showed his usual gocid effort. SPLIT THE WIND moved menacingly on the final turn, but weakened slightly in the closing test. HE ROLLS showed an improved race and appears ready for best effort. HASTEVILLE was responding well entering teh stretch, then was very rank and lugged in through the final furlong.
