Horwood Undergoes Operation BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., May 21. — Bob Horwood, track correspondent of Daily Racing Form, was removed from the press box here today, to Physicians Hospital, Jackson Heights, Long Island, suffering from appendicitis. - He was operated upon immediately. Although suffering severe pains this morning, Horwood insisted upon coming to the track. When the pains persisted, he visited the track physician who ordered him into the hospital. Dr. Alexander Kaye, medical officer and adviser of the Jockeys Guild, performed the operation. At a late hour today, Horwoods condition was pronounced satisfactory.
