WAZA WANA steadily improved her position to the stretch, responded to strong handling in the drive and was up in the last sixteenth. JESSICA B. went to the front early, held a clear lead when settled in the stretch, but could not withstand the winner. FERN HI held on well in a good effort and had no mishap. STATION AGENT lacked early speed, but finished fast BEACH GIRL, in close quarters early, raced evenly when clear. LADY JO began sluggishly. CRAM was done early. CALLED ON was outrun. MIBOYS SUGAR was never dangerous. DOC STEARN gave way after racing prominently to the stretch. FENELANE could not keep up. MAEDINA showed nothing. Scratched-73402 Free Meal, 109. SECOND AVENUE, away alertly, engaged DIDAPPER after the start, responded to brisk urging during the drive and wore down the latter in the last sixteenth. DIDAPPER went to the front early, made the pace to the final furlong, then faltered and was unable to withstand the winner, although easily best of the others. BIG IKE was unable to threaten the leaders when set down through the stretch. CONCORDAT began fast, but could not keep up. UNIONVILLE was never prominent. SWEEP SWINGER, slow to reach best stride and far back to the stretch, was sent to the middle of the track for the drive and, responding to brisk urging, wore down the leaders and disposed of B0L0 PAT in the last seventy yards. BOLO PAT was forwardly placed from the start, swerved to the inside after taking command in the stretch, then held on determinedly, but was not good enough for the winner, although much the best of the others. 0KAMSEL, on the Inside throughout, was unable to seriously threaten the leaders when hard ridden through the stretch. VINITA DOT tired after racing prominently to the last eighth. B0QUHAN assumed command early, made the pace to the stretch, then gave way. BANOVINA went to the front at once, made the pace to the stretch under occasional urging, then withstood a brisk drive and held COMPETING LADY safe. The latter, forwardly placed from the outset, closed willingly under punishment, but could not overtake the winner. LAST SHOW raced evenly without mishap. BROTHER HENRY was on the outside throughout VINITA TONEY began sluggishly. VENTURE ON never was a serious factor. VOLUNTEER raced well for three-eighths, then gave way. MONTES PRIDE, outrun early and forced wide at the final turn, could not better his position when set down in the drive. SMASHER raced prominently to the stretch, c then faltered. BLUE GRIP was never a threat. OBSTINATE SI made the pace to the stretch, then tired badly. GOLDEN BOLT had early speed, suffered mild interference at the upper turn, saved ground entering the stretch, = but failed to rally during the drive. THE FAT LADY, in hand and forwardly placed to the stretch, assumed command when straightened for the drive and retained her advantage while under a steady hand ride. STOLE, in close quarters until settled in the backstretch, gradually improved her position and finished willingly under urging, but could not reach the winner, although easily best of the others. LITHE, crowded back immediately after the break, was far back until reaching the last three-eighths, then closed gamely in a sharp effort. OUR REQUEST, much used engaging the leaders during the run to the stretch, had nothing left for the drive. BLUE JET, away sluggishly, was outrun early and failed to rally when set down through the stretch. BLUE MOLLY raced prominently to the final quarter, then weakened. ALSABS DAY, between horses and outrun throughout, was never a serious factor. MONA could not keep up after breaking well. WIRRA, a keen factor from the beginning, took command and, after three-eighths, made the pace to the stretch, then gave way. NITROMOND broke fast, but failed to stay after showing brief speed.
