DEE WASH, never far back, came out for the drive and, after taking command inside the stretch, drew clear under pressure. DARK TINY raced in closest pursuit of the early leaders after a quarter, gave way to the winner during the-late stages and could never take the latter when hard ridden. RITA DUGAN steadily improved her position while saving ground and closed willingly in a good effort. ENGELS BLUE failed to stay after showing good early speed, LADY SHIRLEY lacked speed. CHAR-LAW had no mishap. RAMONA could not keep up. IRENE tired. BRENT O. showed nothing. Won driving; second and third the same. DID PLAY moved up with a rush on the outside on the near turn, came out to the middle of the track for the drive and, under brisk handling, outlasted ELKTONIA QUEEN. The latter was sent between horses when roused for the stretch run and was steadily wearing down the winner. JOSEPH JR. failed to make up appreciable ground after being outrun early. LITTLE BIMBI gave way during the last furlong under punishment SWEET COMET tired. SIDNEY SUE was never dangerous. TOLECA quit. B. T. LOU quit badly once displaced. Scratched— 74679 Speed Play, 113. MARBACKA, slow to reach best stride, came to the outside for the stretch run and, after reaching the lead, drew clear when ridden out FAIR ARAB slipped through next to the inside rail entering the stretch, closed determinedly, but could not seriously menace the winner. DIAVOLAW failed to stay after racing forwardly to the furlong marker. NEAT AND TIDY could not keep up. SUN GALLAHAD caught tiring horses. ZACA GIRL quit. FINE ART, away alertly, gave way momentarily to FOXY LITTLE on the far turn, regained command and maintained his advantage thereafter under brisk urging. JADEITE raced evenly from the three-quarter marker to the stands without mishap, but could not reach the winner. DOMINION closed with a belated burst of speed down the middle of the track. DANSEUSE saved ground to no avail. FOXY LITTLE faltered when called upon for her best effort. OATKA began sluggishly. SENECAS PESTY raced greenly. S. S. CRANDIC gave a listless performance. The latter made the pace to the stretch under brisk handling, but gave way when set down for the final test. BEST PROSPECT moved up gamely entering the stretch, but lacked a finishing rally. NICKEY W. was forced to take up on the far turn, losing all chance. HALS LINDA was outrun. MONS BOY was through early. Overweight— Nickey W., 2 pounds; Hals Linda, 3. ARMED responded gamely when called upon for the stretch run, was no match for the winner, but easily bested the others. PHAR MON sprinted into a clear lead immediately after the break, then faltered when set down for the drive. REIGHS COMET displayed brief speed, but could not keep up.
