0#000 Jersey Stakes To Be Run on Week-End Palestinian to Start in Race; Rancocas Eligibles Meet Today GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. Jā€ž May 21. ā€” New Jerseys richest week of racing will be staged during the next six days, a period which will be climaxed by Saturdays renewals of the 0,000 Jersey Stakes and the 0,000 Rancocas Stakes. The Jersey is the states richest fixture for sophomores and is contested at the mile and a quarter distance, while the Rancocas offers juvenile fillies an opportunity at the five furlongs distance. Most prominent of the Jersey eligibles are Greentree Stables Capot and Isidore Biebers Palestinian, who staged a thrilling battle while finishing heads apart in the rich* Preakness. Another named for the Jersey is Fred W. Hoopers Olympia, beaten favorite in the Derby. At this writing, Palestinian is considered the most likely of the trio to make the trip from the Metropolitan area. Other possibilities for the three-year-old classic are Christiana Stables Parliament, Mrs. Eben Ellison, Jr.s, Sun Bahram, Woodvale Farms Halt, King Ranchs Cu-randero, Beverly Brouns Magna Charta and George D. Wideners Reveille. Oddly enough, the Calumet Farm forces failed to nominate Ponder, despite the fact that the distance would have suited him to perfection. However, they did name De Luxe which brings to mind once again that that son of Bull Lea was more highly regarded than the Derby winner in early calculations. Juvenile fillies received their lone stakes opportunity of the meeting in the Rancocas and a sizable field is anticipated. The nominations totaled 117 youngsters, and it would be exceedingly difficult to select a probable line-up. Some of the more prominent local fillies include William Helis Bridal Flower, A. B. Hancock, Jr.s, Stars-n Stripes, Walter M. Jeffords My Rose and Pentagon Stables Chloe. Eight Rancocas eligibles are entered in Mondays third race, styled for maidens. They are Call You, Jaleen, Bird Ring, Lady Ridgewell, Ida C, Big Bertha, White Bones and Carry Round. It is likely that the winner of the dash will come from the group, although there are eight others in the field. Mondays best races are the fifth and sixth events. The fifth is for four-year-olds and upwards at six furlongs and the ield includes Darby d Amour, Ringneck, If Bullow, Ramadan, Vanslam, Normrichj Tacaro Briar and Cherish.
