QUIZ SHOW was alertly handled to assume command immediately, was rated and ridden with good judgment and drew clear after shaking off SELECTOR. The .latter was hard ridden in an effort to reach the top one on the outside early, moved to the tail when unsuccessful and was no match. THE TYKE tired, but was unable to hold his position in the running. KINSMAN showed a fair effort. UPTOWN had to be take* up sharply leaving the backstretch, as did EASTERN FLYWAY. LOSER WEEPER, steadied off the leaders after breaking alertly, was unhurried until the quarter, pole, was nicely handled while moving between horses entering the stretch, then drew clear without pressure. DART BY was prominent from the start, showed gametiess in the drive, but was nonatch for the winner. FARAWAY, within striking distance always, was slow to respond and closed well under extreme pressure. BARRAGE was well rated while establishing the pace, held sway to the stretch and faltered. TOUCH CONTROL was always far back and was shut off along the rail while last into- the stretch. BLUE HOLLY moved through along the inside to challenge for the lead after a half, then faltered. AIR ATTACK, hard held through the early stages, had to be steadied several times while commencing his move, threatened through the stretch and wore down the leaders while still showing a tendency to lug in. DELTA QUEEN raced well out from the rail while displacing PARLIAMENT and held on tenaciously in a drive. MAGNA CHARTA raced along the inside from the start, secured room to assume command along the rail, then showed a tendency to loaf through the stretch. BLACK LEAD raced evenly. FUGITIVE tired. HIGH PEAK, never far out ;of it, took the lead momentarily rounding the last turn, was no match for the winner, but easily second best. HI PI trailed to the top of the stretch, then closed with a bold rush MARY BARR forced the early pace, dropped back to fourth place coming to the half-mile pole and remained there to the end.
