FANTOM VENTURE improved position between horses, rallied when put to pressure and outfinished PRINCESS LAURA. The latter forced the pace under light urging, assumed the lead shortly inside the final sixteenth, then weakened. RED ROB, slow to get going, closed ground in the final stages. OUT BOUND JR. set the pace for a half, tired and was dropping back at the end. DOLOMITE was used up racing with the pace, gained a slight lead, then faltered. SWEEP HAND made up ground along the inside. JOHN Q. PUBLIC went evenly. LITTLE RENNY was never a forward factor. CRAVACHE showed, nothing. The others were outrun. SPEEDING HOME broke alertly, was under restraint while on even terms for command, was kept out in the better going and outfinished CLYDE T. The latter moved out with the winner on the final turn and finished gamely. MEL CAVANO weaved through the pack to loom a threat on the far turn, then went evenly. GOODY GUMDROP made up ground in the late stages. SILK BOUND was well placed most of the trip. MAXIMONT broke sluggishly and was unable to reach serious contention. RAMSEY flashed brief speed. FANCY ANSWER, forwardly placed from the beginning, engaged LT. BILL on the final turn, saved ground to take command and had enough left to hold BEAMING LIGHT safe. The latter improved position gradually to finish with good energy. BUSTER HOPE, slow to begin, was sent up on the outside and closed gamely. SUPREME MOMENT was used up forcing the pace. WISE BRUNETTE passed tiring horses on the outside. LT. BILL weakened after a half mile and raced wide through the stretch. STICKER showed nothing. GOOD SWEEP was never a serious factor. BETTER BET JR. disposed of MUSICAL LADY after five furlongs, drew clear and was under light urging to protect margin to the end. • FLYING MILE worked his way up on the outside to enter contention, came inside for the drive and was closing stoutly. GROUND FOG, slow to begin, weaved through the field to finish gamely. MUSICAL LADY, quickest to begin, stayed with the pace to the final furlong, then tired. GUNNISON, well*placed on the outside, lost ground on the final turn and was unable to gain under late urging. LOOKOUT DICE lacked early speed. ROMANETTE was never a serious factor. SCHOLARSHIP was not persevered with when unable to reach the leaders. ORANGE SUN had no mishap. CADET DAN flashed brief speed. DOUBLE BRANDY, taken back and steadied for a half mile, moved on the extreme outside when roused, but failed to make up appreciable ground. DOUGS REWARD showed nothing. FANEUIL MISS broke alertly, assumed command at once, was headed by UNBRIDLED, remained in close attendance along the inside, regained command under pressure entering the stretch, then continued on gamely when clear. UNBRIDLED was rushed on the outside to overtake the leader soon after the start, was unable to get clear, then continued on gamely, although tiring at the end. GEORGES GIRL, well up throughout, was unable to menace the top pair. MUCHO MAS showed a good effort while, racing on the inside. HEuL BENT rallied mildly on the final turn, but was not good enough. BOSS BROKER was unable to keep up. LEFTY JIM was never a serious factor. MISS MELISS passed tiring horses. SHADOWS START had no mishap. DOT H. weakened in the late stages. GRAND ENTRY, well handled while close to the pace, waited until straightened in the stretch before making move, then closed with a rush to draw clear in the final yards. COLUMN, allowed to settle into best stride while outrun early, moved with a belated rush in the final furlong. MESMER, reserved close to the pace, came to the inside for the drive, drew on even terms, then faltered. FIRST NIGHTER worked his way up on the inside, entered contention at the final quarter, continued to gain, but was hemmed in _along the rail and was unable to get clear. FANCY FLYER moved fast after the first half, entered a contending position, then flattened out in the drive.- RABIES went evenly; FLAG DRILL set the pace for seven furlongs before tiring. THE DRONE, steadied soon after the start and eased to the inside, moved readily after entering the backstretch, drew close to the leaders on the far turn, continued to gain on the inside, took command and drew out under urging. DRAGERTON, outrun to the far turn, weaved through horses to close with good speed. EVERPLAYFUL improved position gradually and finished with good courage.- FOUR THIRTY set the pace under light restraint, held on gamely to the final sixteenth, then tired. BRAVE BID went evenly. TWO DEUCE was rushed to the leader soon after the start, forced most of the pace, then tired. ROSES ARE RED was in close quarters early. MAGIC CHIEF had speed for a half mile.
