Sir Sprite, Pellicle Among Eleven Named for Wolverine FAIR GROUNDS, Detroit, Mich., June 8. — O. Frank Woodwards Sir Sprite, recent winner of the Michigan Mile, heads the group of 11 nominees for the ,500 Wolverine Handicap, one mile and one-sixteenth stake and the second important turf course feature of the current Motor City season. Hal Price Headleys Pellicle, who finished second to Sir Sprite in the previous grass track fixture, also is named for the Wolverine, which is to have its decision here on next Wednesday, June 15. Othr eligibles for the Wolverine include Raymond Ankenbauers quick Porters Broom, who holds the American turf course record of 1:36% for one mile, Mrs. Ellsworth H. Augustus Seven League, Theodore D. Buhls Air Sailor, Henry Forrests Checkerhall and First Degree, Pr R. and H. L. Hintons Boy-Plin, Estate of C. S. Pop-ovitzs Love Sonnet, S. I. Crews Castel Beau, and Jacob Shers one-time turf course champion, Frere Jacques.
