Donovan Joins Public Relations Staff at Arlington-Washington James M. Donovan, former writer for The Blood-Horse and The Thoroughbred Record, has been appointed to the public relations staff of Arlington Park-Washington Park for the 1951 summer racing season, executive director Benjamin F. Lind-heimer announced yesterday. Donovan, a native of Lexington and a graduate of the University of Kentucky, joins the Chicago tracks staff Thursday. He has had extensive experience in the various phases of racing public relations, starting as an assistant in circulation and advertising with The Thoroughbred Record. He also handled reporting assignments fqr that publication before moving on to The Blood-Hofse with similar duties. Donovan, an Army Air Force air-sea rescue pilot during World War n, was more recently assistant to managing editor Alex Bower of The Blood-Horse, handling editorial as well as advertising functions.
