NO PROFIT, a sharp contender from the beginning, took command in the late stages to outgame STILL GAY. Latter went into a clear lead in the stretch, but was not good enough. PAMARIS closed strongly after a slow beginning. LIEBESKIND had no excuse. GYPSY FIDDLE closed willingly. NORAS BONNET lacked speed. GINOWAY tired, as did UNATTACHED. BASIS, in close attendance of the pace from the outset, drifted in after taking a clear lead in the stretch and lasted over SANDY ALAN. A claim of foul against the winner by the rider of HOLLY RIDGE was not allowed. SANDY ALAN saved ground early, -came out when ready for the drive and closed stoutly. HOLLY RIDGE tired in the drive. CAMPAIGNER bore out slightly on the turn. SCOTCH WINE was slow to begin. FULL MEASURE lacked a closing rally. BILLY BART had no excuse. MOSSY FACE was outrun. HYVANIA gained the lead when SHORT CIRCUIT tired, was headed momentarily at the final fence, then drew clear in the run to the wire. EL ARABI was a sharp contender on the inside throughout, but was not good enough. JAM hobbled at the fourth fence, then continued gamely until the end. WENHAM, reserved early, improved his position steadily when called upon but lacked a menacing rally. DAUNTON bumped with CORVALLES SONG at the start, was rushed along to be forwardly placed, then tired. SHORT CIRCUIT-was through after the fifth fence. DON JOSE II. tired badly. LOTUS BLOSSOM was slow to begin, saved ground improving position on the turn and just missed for the place. EARLY HEATH gave way in the drive. BUSANDA was forced to race wide much of the way.
