Delaware Again to Schedule Kiamensi, Montchanin Series DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., May 21. — Delaware Park will again run a special series of handicap races at graduated values and distances during its 32-day meeting May 29-July 4, in keeping with its policy of encouraging distant racing. A total of 7,500 ih purses and awards will go with this series of 10 races. The series consists of one set of five races known as the Kiamensi Handicap and another set of the same number called the Montchanin Handicap. The Kiamensi is an open handicap for three-year-olds and upward to be run every Saturday, beginning June 2. The Montchanin, also for three-year-olds and upward, is a handicap for horses that have raced for a claiming price of ,500 or less since October 2, and will be run on five successive Wednesdays beginning May 30. Both sets will start at a distance of a mile and a sixteenth, with subsequent races being stretched out to a mile and an eighth, mile and a quarter, mile and a half and, finally, mile and three-quarters. Each purse will be -increased 00 as the distance is stepped up. The Kiamensi will begin with a ,500 purse and end with one of ,500. The -Montchanin will start at ,500 and build, up to ,500. Additional awards will be made to owners of the horses earning the greatest number of points awarded to first, second, third and fourth finishers in these handicaps, based on 24 points for a first, 12 for a second, 6 for a third and 3 for a fourth. The additional awards will amount to ,000 for the Kiamensi and ,500 for the Montchanin. The split on the former will be ,000 to first, ,000 to second, 00 to third and 00 to fourth, while in the Montchanin awards It will be ,500, 00, 00 and 00.
