NAVY-ACE was bothered by WILL I on the final turn and in the«early stretch, shook free of that one to quickly move to STAR Z., brushedrwith him and reached the front under strong handling at the end. STAR Z. easily had the most speed, opened a commanding lead for the drive, but then bore out, bumped with NAVY ACE and faltered. WILL I was lightly in hand while a keen factor, bore out badly on the stretch turn and then lacked a rally. FAIR MARK could not menace. IN MY BONES quit. LADY DUCHESS could not handle the track. H. Foales; bred by W. L. Brarin. WENT TO POST-2.37. OFF AT 2:371 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. BOLD WARRIOR was taken in hand at the start, quickly and easily came to the outside and around horses to reach the front in the early back-stretch, then held on determinedly under punishment and held STRADDLE clear. The latter gradually improved position, was taken to the inside for the drive and. loomed dangerously in the early stretch, but hung. COUNTRY BOY II., away last and unable to reach stride early, rallied strongly through the final quarter mile and finished with a rush. SEXTANT was a forward factor throughout and held on well to dead-heat with PADDOCK ACRES. The latter was eased back while on the outside of horses on the far turn, made a mild bid in the early stretch and weakened. MONMOUTH weakened when set down for the drive. PAM LIGHT was outrun. -GOOD COPY tired and_drifted very wide. DIAMOND HEAD was steadied on the outside in the first flight through the backstretch run, willingly moved into the runner-up position when roused on the far turn, then wore down REACTION in the final run while finishing in the middle of the course. REACTION saved ground and quickly opened a commanding lead on the far turn, held sway evenly to the final furlong, then faltered when punished. WISE MIKE, away sluggishly and outrun, came between horses and made up considerable ground in the drive. LEVITY weakened. LITTLE HOPE tired. BACK FIRE, rushed into xon- tention after a slow start, quit badly after three furlongs. TEASE ME NOT had brief speed and quit to a walk. -Scratched— 27393 Senor-Hygro, 115. INDICATED assumed a commanding lead at once, increased his advantage while in hand and won with speed in reserve. FACES EAST lacked early speed, was sent through close quarters rapidly while improving position on the turns, then closed strongly, but was no match for the winner. ABOVE NORMAL moved up fast on the outside turning into the stretch, but could not be effectively ridden white lugging in badly. BLUE JACK could not keep up early, then came between horses to make up ground in the last stages. WANT A BEAU did not like the track. ROSE POLL had a rough trip. SPINDLE, between horses early, swung wide for clear racing entering the stretch and steadily wore down the leaders to win drawing away. JIMMINY GOSH, a keen factor under alert handling, was blocked inside CURRENT NEWS on the stretch turn and had to be taken back, then came again on the inside in the stretch run and finished determinedly. IMPERIAL ROCK, outrun and racing wide, closed with a belated rush in the final run: LARRY DOOLEY wrested command under pressure on the turns,-drew clear, then faltered suddenly in the drive. SUN BAHRAM, slow to settle in stride and trailing behind for a half-mile, was driving through a narrow opening between horses midway of the turn, rapidly wore down HIGH TREND, but then was frantically punished to retain his lead through the final yards. HIGH TREND slipped through on the inside and easily opened a long lead turning into the backstretch, readily gave way to the winner in the drive, but then held on doggedly and bested DIRECTOIRE. The latter was under light restraint while well placed, closed fast in pursuit of SUN BAHRAM through the stretch, but huny at the -end. ENERGETIC, in. hand early, passed tiring horses. KING CLOVER was under intermittent urging while well placed behind the leaders, closed willingly, when strongly urged for the stretch drive and came between horses to be up in the last yards. BLUE SPEED*, well ridden and taken in hand when unable to out-sprint JOEY BOY early, easily disposed of that one on the stretch turn and opened a clear lead, then held on. well under punishment. MULLY S., unprepared at the start but breaking well, gradually made up distance while racing on the outside and finished fastest of all. JOEY BOY was rated while setting the pace, made a mild bid in the early stretch after being displaced, then weakened. GINGER BOOTS raced prominently placed and loomed dangerously when urged on the stretch turn, but then weakened in the last stages. IRISH GAME was outrun. CHERRY PATH was steadied while on the outside of horses on, the first turns, readily responded when urged and went to the front on the outside entering the stretch, then could not draw clear and weakened when challenged by the winner. TARPORT KID was well placed and luckily found room to move to the leaders next to the rail on the final turn, then weakened gradually-in the final run. ALAIRNE was unable to untrack himself and trailed far behind for six furlongs, then closed with belated speed in the stretch run. BIR ACKEIM tired. TUS ONE showed nothing.
