Won handily; second and third driving. PENNANT DAY was with the first flight from the outset, reached a clear lead on the turn and won with something left. CHEERMEUP, in close attendance of the leaders between horses, saved ground on the turn, but was no match for the winner. U. S. KNIGHT raced prominently on the outside and faltered. SKIN TONIC lost ground improving position after beginning slowly. VERTIGO II. had no excuse. SIR WHITE lacked a closing tally. YOU AND ME was through early and then went by exhausted horses. CURIOSITY tired badly in the final quarter mile.. BUNDLRAB had brief speed and quit. SINGING STEP went into a clear lead and came to the rail entering the turn, began to go wide leaving the turn, drifted beyond the middle of the track in the drive and outgamed ARIS MONA. The latter forced the pace on the rail, went up to reach the lead briefly between calls inside the sixteenth post, but was not good enough. MIGHTY QUEST was within striking distance from the break but could not menace when set down for the drive. SAGITTARIUS failed to • respond when called upon. ROYAL GOVERNOR was outrun. STICKER, well placed from the outset, made a mild bid in the stretch and hung. WARRIOR PRINCE moved up with a rush when punished and tired in the drive. CUE MAC went between horses to make her bid and lacked a rally. ARCTIC TERN was outrun. SEA DEFENSE caught tired .horses. KIBOSH was through early. POP-BOTTLE lacked room attempting to go between horses. BILL HOWK and TRANSATLANTIC guit.
