Won driving; second and third the same LITTLE COLLEEN, hustled along within striking distance on the inside, was guided outside FOLK MUSIC and, with a game effort, was up at the finish. FOLK MUSIC shook free of UP HIGH on the far turn to establish a clear lead, appeared safely in front nearing the finish, then weakened and just missed. BIG KEIS, unable to keep up with the leaders on the turns, closed determinedly under punishment in the stretch run. JOANNYS JILL raced prominently placed and finished weil r. a good effort SIR LIONEL saved ground. LADY HEROD was outrdn. BANK COAL raced • wide. UP HIGH had good speed, was taken in hand bearing out badly on the stretch turn and quit. GAVOTTE was taken up sharply at the start. GRO-UP was urged steadily while In closest "attendance to the pace, saved ground and assumed command when SABOT raced wide into the ; stretch and then was doing her best to hold LUXURIANT clear. The latter, outrun and far back, was taken to the outside at the far turn, rallied strongly through the stretch and was rapidly gaining on the winner. SABOT drew clear from GRO-UP and opened a commanding lead through the backstretch, was going along evenly when she swerved beyond the middle of the track entering the stretch and then held on well. RENOUNCE saved ground and raced evenly. MONMOUTH, not too far back, lacked a closing rally. LAST STRIDE tired and lugged in in the drive. SINGING SWORD and HAJ were outrun. GAMBLER, bleeding from mouth injuries before the start, had the most speed from the beginning, then was under prolonged left-handed punishment while drifting slightly wide in the stretch run and gamely resisted WENTWORTH. The latterjwas close to the pace and moved to challenge for the lead on the final turn, then was gradually carried out by the winner and hung. SATURDAY, slow to reach best stride, appeared dangerous while rallying on the final turns, but failed to carry her speed in the stretch. OOZO was outrun. SAND RUN quit. ROMAN SECRET, strongly and well ridden, saved ground while setting the pace, drifted. out slightly in the early stretch and was headed by JAMPOL, then came again at the end and gained the decision. JAMPOL was not far away and quickly rushed through an opening on the inside, gained a short advantage over ROMAN SECRET in the drive and fought it out gamely. GROVER B., probably best, was hard hustled and driven into blind quarters behind horses on the far turn, dropped back and then came to the outside and drifted extremely wide while closing fastest of all. RAZZOO was a keen contender under urging and weakened only slightly. OLD IRONSIDES could not keep up. PINOCCHIO began sluggishly. ROZS STAR tried to get out on the turns. TOP ADMIRAL skimmed through next to the inside rail and quickly wrested command midway of the turn, then steadily increased his advantage while remaining under mild pressure. MUSIC began alertly, was unable to stay with the winner under strong handling, but held on well to be clear x f HAT CHECK GIRL. The latter, saving ground and well placed, could not seriously threaten. MYSTAGOGUE raced with the first flight and weakened. FLYING WEATHER had no excuses. CALL OVER, smartly rated and gradually moving to the front while saving all possible ground, gained a short lead at the half mile, then held his speed evenly to repulse several challenges from OVEREXPOSED and was gradually going away at the finish. OVEREXPOSED raced abreast of CALL OVER from the beginning, drove between horses in his -company at the half mile and -was several times punished while attempting to wrest command, then weakened slightly in the final yards. FERD, bumped and forced wide by PENSAVA on the first turn, was sent into closer contention under steady urging and appeared dangerous on the final turn, then drifted slightly wide and tired. WHIFFENPOOF showed speed while racing slightly wide throughout and weakened. MR. BUSTER raced on the outside of the first flight and quit HIGH TREND was outrun. RISK A WHIRL lacked speed. JESS LINTHICUM raced close to the pace of STARECASE, easily disposed of that one in the early stretch, then lasted under extreme pressure and bested SHEILAS REWARD. The latter,- between horses, while lacking early speed, steadily entered .closer contention after a quarter-mile, closed determinedly and was getting to the winner. TEA-MAKER raced on the outside while moving forward in company with SHEILAS REWARD, then could not match his courage in the drive. PICTURE CARD saved ground and closed fast in the final stages. BOLD JO was a keen factor for a half-mile and faltered. ADMIRAL DRAKE was not a threat. STARECASE went easily showing the pace into the stretch, then stopped. EIGHTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES.
