Vsit Winners Circle RIVER DOWNS, California, Ohio, June 16. — Two apprentices are credited with riding the first winners of their respective careers at the current River Downs session. They are Dick Smothers, a 16-year-old lad, who hails from Walla Walla, Wash., and Harold Acres, a native of Woodbine, Ky., who is 20 years old. The former is under contract to M. Bunit, while the latters contract is held by Louis G. Schavel.
